We got there later than usual, but before it actually started, so we weren't able to get to the rail. We were only a couple people back from it. The big surprise was that I could actually use my camera & get videos which doesn't happen often at Revolution!
I was so sure I wouldn't like Vains of Jenna. As it turned I actually did like them even though they reminded me a lot of 80's music.
The only thing I knew of CKY before this was a song that I heard on Jackass. I liked it so much I had to look up who did it. Onstage they were good. When the crowd wasn't as loud as they wanted, they played some Cher and other shitty music.
GWAR was up next....my third time seeing them, so I wanted to stay in front. My husband decided to head to the back for this band...and the mess that comes with them since he had to work early the next morning! The pit was the craziest of the night...the pushing & swaying of the crowd almost caused a lot of us to land on the ground, but I was able to grab on to the guy's shirt in front of me to keep my balance. They attacked George Bush, Don Vito (from Viva La Bam), Hitler, the (Nazi) Pope, and a few others. It was hard to get photos since I didn't want to ruin my camera and the fog was pretty thick...but heres a few:
George Bush about to be decapitated
Of course those of us in the pit were drenched! My clothes were completely soaked, my contact lenses turned red and the rest of me took on green & blue: including my hair which still has a green tint to it after 5 washings!
Cradle of Filth was next, we decided to stay up near the bar area for them. I didn't take any photos, figuring they wouldn't turn out from where we were, but I managed to get some videos:
Dirge Inferno:
Mannequin:
Tortured Soul Asylum:
Her Ghost In The Fog (last song of the night):
(thanks to my friend Derek for some of the song titles, since I'm not a big fan and had no clue!)
If I have taken photos or videos of you at concerts, you can find them
