OZZFEST 2007 West Palm Beach

I was still outside for Behemoth and Cthonic. I was waiting at will call for my tix that I won. Took forever, but while I was out there I met one of the guys from Daath

Actually the tix ended up being lawn, so I didn't really need them anyway, but it was nice to say I was on LOG's guestlist!

As soon as I got inside (with my camera YAY!), I tried to upgrade to pit, but they said they didn't have any...so I got about 10 rows back from front & center. Good thing my daughter didn't go with me-paying $50 for a ticket upgrade is one thing, but having to do it for both of us would not have been fun.

I purposely missed In This Moment

....but saw Daath ( I liked them alot!):

I went to the Jager tent to meet Hatebreed and Jamey took a picture of my Hatebreed inspired tattoo (said it was AWESOME, FUCKING AWESOME) & signed it. I was going to get the sig tattooed the next day while I was getting another tattoo done, but the sunscreen I was wearing obliterated the sig by the end of the day
I bought a copy of Supremacy so I got the cd booklet signed and got a signed Jager poster too. I also got pics with all the band members.

After that, I caught part of 3 Inches Of Blood:

I was walking around during The Showdown...

Nile was next, I liked them a lot too:

and then Ankla, they were ok, but just not my type of music:

apparently Willie from Lamb of God liked them:

Devildriver was up next & I really wanted to see them, but only stayed for a couple of songs so I could go to the LOG meet & greet at FYE. I lucked out because one of my friends (thanks Jon!) was at the begining of the line & let me get in front of him. There were no photos allowed (because of time constraints, I assume), but when I got to Mark he recognized me from on the forums & let me get a photo
. Yet another Congregation perk! I got my Gigantour setlist fully signed finally, along with my Congregation shirt & Chris' PSA for PETA. It was awesome to get to meet everybody finally (I've met Willie & Mark before)! I would have liked to get more photos...but I was lucky to get what I got...
="">

Because I was at the begining of the line, I was able to get through in time to catch some more Devildriver:

Hatebreed fucking OWNED 2nd stage!

the circle pits were amazing!

Randy came onstage with them for Perserverance:

I completely missed Black Tide...I went to FYE to meet Hatebreed again & get a better photo with Jamey
(my current default)

Lordi sucked gigantic, hairy, STD infected balls....

I liked Static X, as always...it was just hard seeing them from so far away. It's a big difference from the intamacy of Culture Room!

I went to the "I Love Vagina" booth and got to meet Tony from Static X, Jamey (for the 3rd time that day--I'm not a stalker, I swear!) and Randy (for the 2nd time) Finally got my pic with Randy!

I also got my "Omerta" shirt signed by Randy and my "Jasta Saves" shirt signed by Jamey. Tony signed my Ozzfest sampler cd...somehow I couldn't picture myself wearing his "Satanic Hispanic" shirt....so I didn't buy one. I have one of his picks from last time they played here anyway!

LAMB OF FUCKING GOD!!!!! What can I possibly say? Totally kicked ass more than any other band there. Every song was amazing & I loved the "American Idol" speech of Randy's.
When I tried to upgrade my ticket to pit and they said they didn't have any....it wasn't that they didn't have any pit tickets...it was that they had NO PIT at all! I can't help but wonder how it feels for bands like LOG whose music is crying out for a pit to look out and see an audience of people unable to do what the music calls for. Of course everyone (except the old fart Ozzy crowd) was standing and doing the best they could within their "space" but DAMN - it just wasn't right! I'm sure the lawn people were tearing it up though. Also, my crappy camera was no match for the lighting and distance to the stage, so this is the only type of photo I could get:

Ozzy is Ozzy-you know you're going to get War Pigs everytime, you know when you hear Mama I'm Comin Home it's almost the end of the show. Predictable, but very well worth seeing again. Gotta love him. Again, the photo situation didn't work too well with him either, all I got was this one of Zakk:

A fucking awesome day all the way around! No rain, met up with lots of friends and made some new ones. I didn't get home till about 1:30, which sucked for going to work the next morning, but it was all worth it!
